Voting papers will be sent to members of the group in April, and the closing date for the receipt of voting papers was noon on 22 May 2009.

Activities

In order to improve channels of communication between community pharmacists, the committee has established a network of contacts with the Society's branches, regions and practising community pharmacists to use as a resource for its activities. The group also produces a newsletter four times a year which is distributed to all community pharmacists via The Pharmaceutical Journal. The group organises meetings on matters of interest to community pharmacists; these are accredited with the College of Pharmacy Practice as continuing education contact hours.

The CPG committee meets the Academic Pharmacy Group committee to discuss matters of mutual interest to both groups, such as the role of academia in the future development of community pharmacy. The committee has also held joint meetings with the Hospital, Veterinary and Industrial Pharmacists Group committees. The group is regularly consulted on educational matters such as competences for preregistration training and the national continuing education syllabus for pharmacy.
