The Academic Pharmacy Group is a special interest group of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and is open to pharmacists and non-pharmacists alike.

The group's one-day membership meetings, which cover topics as diverse as drug misuse, the difficulties faced by students in making calculations and the teaching of pharmacy law and ethics, offer a forum for debate, discussion and the dissemination of information. Locations vary from meeting to meeting, but the venue is usually either a school of pharmacy or the Society's headquarters.

The APG conference offers similar opportunities. The residential nature of this two- or three-day meeting also provides a good opportunity for networking. The conference is held on a biennial basis. Recent locations have included Belfast, Liverpool, Brighton and Glasgow.

A new online network for existing pharmacist members of the Academic Pharmacy Group is being developed
