The Society has been resident at 36 York Place since 1884 and is particularly proud of its home in Edinburgh's New Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). York Place was the first extension of the New Town. The Society paid the princely sum of £1,900 for this prestigious address. The building was extended in 1895 to include an examination hall and chemistry and dispensing laboratories.
We have recently refurbished the inside of the building to make it more comfortable and practical for our members and guests. Members are encouraged to come and make use of the extensive library which is housed at York Place and includes some of the earliest publications and documentation on pharmacy in Scotland as well as the most up to date references and journals.
The Society's headquarters at 36 York Place is easily reached by both car and public transport. It is ten minutes walk from Waverley Railway Station and less than five minutes walk from the central bus station. Parking is available in the St James Centre car park two minutes walk from number 36. Enter the car park from York Place. Click here for a map

The boardroom is a large bright room at the front of the building which has recently been refurbished and can accommodate up to 22 people. The Charles Drummond room is another airy room which can comfortably accommodate up to 24 people in a boardroom setting.
