If receiving books by post, you will need to sign for the parcel upon delivery, so please ask that it be delivered to wherever you are likely to be during office hours (Monday to Friday only). We try to deliver within three working days of the request being placed.
Charges
We will pay for the outward postage for book loans, however we do ask that you pay the return postage costs. We advise that you request a (free) proof of postage certificate from the Post Office when returning books to help us recover any that are lost in transit (there is no requirement that you use registered mail for returning your books). Finally we ask that you return books in padded envelopes to minimise damage.
We can supply photocopies of journal articles, chapters from books, monographs from pharmacopoeias and proprietary books (within the terms of EU and UK copyright legislation).

When requesting that a librarian carry out a literature search on your behalf, please provide us with as much information as possible about your topic of interest, including a discursive abstract and any keywords that describe your subject. We will carry out a straightforward search for free and post or e-mail the results to you. If however your subject requires a more complex search, then we apply a fee of £35 per hour for members, and £70 per hour for non-members.
