What we do

A career in pharmacy
This section provides information on pharmacy careers, pharmacy education policy, undergraduate education including links to schools of pharmacy, preregistration training, the roles of pharmacy support staff, and working in other countries.
Registration & support
This section provides information on areas of support for the profession including registering with the Society, fee structure and payment of fees, updating personal details, clinical governance, audit resources, CPD, postgraduate courses and further training, leadership in pharmacy.
Information resources
This section covers the Society's information resources including the press office, library, advisory services, and museum; it also gives quick links to downloadable documents published by the Society.
World of pharmacy
This section provides information on the wider world of pharmacy, covering: current developments in pharmacy, the use of medicines, science, practice research, working with other UK and international bodies, events and meetings.
Professional leadership body
This section provides information on the setting up of a new professional body for pharmacy, alongside a new regulatory body, as part of a fundamental modernisation of the pharmacy profession

This section provides information on Registration with the RPSGB.
Protecting the public
This section provides information on the Society's work as a regulator, including fitness to practise standards, codes of ethics, the pharmacy inspectorate and its roles, how to complain about a pharmacist, pharmacy premises or pharmacy technician, and the Society's disciplinary committees.
New pharmacy regulator
This section provides information on the setting up of a new regulatory body for pharmacy, alongside a new professional body, as part of a fundamental modernisation of the pharmacy profession.

Accessibility Statement

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain is fully committed to ensuring that its website is accessible and inclusive for all user groups, including people with disabilities. The design and build of the website has taken into account the following guidelines:

The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Part III)

The Disability Discrimination Act states unambiguously that private and public sector web sites must be accessible. Guidelines include:

Allowing users to control text sizes
Using an easy to read font type
Ensuring suitable foreground and background colour contrast
Using clear and simple grammar
Providing meaningful text equivalents for pictures
Providing simple and consistent site navigation
Ensuring the target of each link is clearly defined
Providing a full sitemap
Providing navigational short cuts for users of text only browsers and page readers
Using appropriate structural mark-up to maximise browser support
Ensuring all content and functionality is available to users without content style sheet (CSS), image and script support

Standards compliance

1. The pages on our website conform at a minimum to level A compliance as specified by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and endorsed by the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB). The majority of pages meet level AA and AAA requirements.

2. The pages within the website should validate as XHTML 1.1 strict and use structured semantic markup. The CSS also validates.

3. All pages on this site use structured semantic markup, eg, H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 tags for subtitles.

Colours

We have checked the site's font and background colour combinations against the different colour blindness conditions and ensured that all information is still clear.

PDF documents

A number of downloadable PDF documents are available to download from the web site. In order to view these files, you may need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe website.

Font sizes

You may change the font size of this document to your preference through your browser.

Style sheets

This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets, the use of structured semantic markup ensures that the content of each page is still readable and clearly structured.
